Lake Livingston, located just north of Coldspring, Texas, contains
90,000 surface acres of water surrounded by 2 million acres in San
Jacinto, Polk, Trinity, and Walker Counties. Approximately 85% of
the land surrounding Lake Livingston is National Forest.
The lake offers fantastic water sports; including
fishing, sailing, skiing and boating. Native game fish include black
bass, white bass, crappie, strippers, blue gill, and catfish.

Coldspring is the county seat of San Jacinto, listed as one
of the fastest growing counties in Texas. The county,
has a population of more than 20,000, and is located between
Interstate 45 to the West and U.S. 59 to the East and within an hour
North of the Metropolitan Houston area.
Numerous historical markers are located throughout
our area, including the San Jacinto Court House which was re-constructed
about 1918 and the old San Jacinto County Jail, which now houses the County Museum.
Old
Town Coldspring consists of an 1870 collection
of historic buildings and memorabilia of yesteryear and is located
"down the hill" within walking distance from the current site. Points
of interest include the 1870 courthouse square, the site of a two
story wooden courthouse destroyed by fire in 1915. Most of the buildings
remaining in Old Town now house vendors of antiques, collectibles
and crafts.
